I possessed the body of Ophelia, the villainess in the story ‘The Crown Prince Returns’ who locked her younger half-brother up in a tower for power.
And just like the characters in the other reincarnated novels, I thought I would fare well.
But regardless of whether I followed the original plot or completely went against it, every single thing I tried ended in my horrible, painful death.
The first time, I was guillotined.
The second time, my limbs were torn apart.
The third time I was forced to commit suicide by poison.
And the fourth time, I was shot with hundreds of arrows sitting on the throne.
Now, on my fifth return to the same day in Ophelia's youth, I have come to accept that regardless of what I do, I am doomed to die.
“Concoct a poison for me. Not one that’s painful, but one that’ll kill me slowly.” If I am going to die anyway, might as well arrange my death to be as painless as possible and hopefully, I will finally die for good.
“After I ascend the throne, are you leaving me behind?”
“I sincerely hope that her Highness survives, no matter what.”
“Your Highness, I wish to get to know you better.”
All these people from my past aren’t letting me die so easily!
